Symposiums and congresses are important scientific events in which scientific production and new findings in a certain discipline are introduced to the scientific world, knowledge and thought are reinforced through discussions, academics and researchers in related fields meet and ideas are shared. As is known, in recent years, congresses and symposiums are organized in a multidisciplinary manner. This seriously affects the production areas of these scientific activities. As a matter of fact, the continuity of the tradition in the branches of science, the sharing of the scientific accumulations of the field's well-known academics and researchers are even more difficult. UTAS II (ISTS), which will be held for the first time on November 25-26, 2020, is a symposium aiming to bring academics, researchers, and students from different disciplines together around the consciousness of Turkology.

The most important aim of this symposium is to provide participants from Turkey, the Turkish world and from around the world to share new applications and research methods, and observations with the scientific community.

One of the important features of the symposium is that symposium will be held in the city of Van which is an important transit location between Turkey, Iran, Iraq, and Caucasus. Van is a city that has borders with Iran where millions of Turks live today. It is a city opened to Iraq and the Middle East via Hakkâri.

In addition the lecturers of the Fine Arts Education Department of our university will present the mixed exhibition containing Turkology, and Van Yüzüncü Yıl University Conservatory also will hold a concert program that includes rich music of Turkey and the Turkish World.
